Fetish!

Self,

I have discovered that I have a second fetish. It's common knowledge that the first is underwear, since i've made mention of it before here. On Tuesday, I came home from work, changed clothes, and made my way to the gym. This part of my goals for my new year. Well the gym I go to is just far enough away from where I live that the walk there, with a brisk pace, adds to the "exercising experience." Plus the walk through a major commercial center can add some eye candy to an otherwise boring activity. So I go to the gym, do my work out and well obviously I have to walk back home.

So on the walk home I decide to do some window shopping, and by window shopping I don't mean "cruising." I mean browse through some of the stores - I did say it was a center of commerce.

It is in one of these stores that I became aware of my other fetish. Cookware. Get your mind out the gutter - No, I don't have sex with my pots. (Those of you who thought about it are some nasty freaks....and yes there is atleast one among you!) I guess I should clarify, for me (particularly in this case,) a fetish to me just means something that brings a person some pleasure that is slightly outside of the range of other people. And yes that can be sexual too.

Anyway, so I'm in the store and come across a few pieces of enameled cast iron cookware. I don't know why (other than my cookware fetish) but for a while now I have been wanting a set of enameled cast iron cookware. The problem is that William-Sonoma and Sur la Table sells them at like $300 per item. So to get a set to do just your basic cooking - saute veggies, make a soup/stew/gumbo, bake a chicken- could cost like $1200. I ain't that giddy over it, even though the set should last a lifetime, maybe even in to the next generation or two.

SO when I found that this store had a few pieces for a fraction of what the other store charges, well, I had a fight with myself.

I lost, here is a picture of the newest addition to my cookware family.

Sincerely,
Pharaoh
