It's time I share that  I am officially a property owner!  I'm excited about all the things to come friends coming to town to visit, my first Christmas & New Year's, being able to entertain family and friends, quiet moments to myself.

I just got keys tonight.  The full move will be October 27, 2014. 

I'll post an update on how that goes.

Milestone!

Self,

I know I've been absent the last few days and I'll try not to let the absence go too long. HOWEVER in my absence, Note2Self has reached a milestone. There are now 40 followers on the blog! LOL I know it seems childish/immature to be concerned with the number of followers listed, but here I am. Honestly I would like to see the number of followers on Note2self to grow into the triple digits like some of the other blogs I've seen/visited.

That said I am TOTALLY AND COMPLETELY ESTATIC with the Followers I have...I'm glad you find my rants and rambling interesting enough to admit that you read them and want to come back to read more!

The First Birthday Shout!

I don't know if it has been noticed that I haven't given any shout out to people for their birthdays here. It's not because I being mean or anything like that. lol it has a lot to do with memory....and I don't have a very good one....I would hate to give birthday shout out and then discover that I missed someone because I was overwhelmed with stuff and forgot! So I just decided not to do any!

That said.....there is One birthday shout out that I have to do! Today I am 1 year old, or rather "Note2Self-byPharaoh" is one year old today! On September 27, 2008 I penned my first note (Know thy Self) here.....hmm and it's been a torrid love affair since!

My first "Note" was an introduction of myself and what I wanted out of Blogging. Here at my first birthday I think some mild reflections are in order.

I had planned for this to be a daily blog as NYSuitor has reminded me on several occasions sense we connected. (Did I ever mention that he was reading "Notes" even before we had ever knew each other?)

Well I have to admit that I fell short of a daily blog. out of 365 possible entries I have a grand total of........(drum roll, please.)

158 entries.

Although 7 of those are actually "drafts" of post that I started but never finished/published. My ratio as a daily blog is about 43%. =( not even half.

However as a WEEKLY Blog my ratio would be 304% That's a hellalot better and certainly worth smiling about! =) (if you need to do the math for yourself 158/52 = 3.038......do you really have such little trust in me that you needed to get the calculator......fine, I'll wait!)

Now that my math has been verified. I have to say ratio's be damned I have enjoyed my experience with my blog. I hope you have too. a special shout out to readers and followers alike,....knowing that you're out there helps to keep the "pen" in my hand. LOL your comments help too!

Now mushy stuff aside, I think for Note's birthday it's time to do some redecorating. I'd like to hear some suggest on ways to change things up a bit.

Another Step Up

This past weekend I went to a conference in Las Vegas for my other career in the financial services industry.

I am proud to announce that before the conclusion of the event I was received another acknowlegement of the fact that the leaders in my office recognize my commitment, growth, and work.

I recived a "Rising Star" award! Which is just that...they see that I am an emerging leader in the office!

My colleagues who attended with me and myself are all excited and we looking forward to helping families to drastically improve their financial situations!

Blog Milestone

Self,

I'm a little late doing this but I was intentionally stalling.

I was stalling for a couple reasons. One of which was that I was trying to leave the post "Who is in Control" on the top of the page for as long as possible, however it's time to move on.

I was also stalling because I wanted to let enough time pass to feel secure in saying this.

I HAVE 25 Loyal Subjects now. Actually 26. But I said I would acknowledge my 25th follower!

My 25th follower is Eric Arvin. I haven't had much opportunity to speak with Mr. Arvin yet, but I do drop in on his page regularly so I think those conversations will happen, it's just a matter of time.

My next milestone will be 30 (I know it's only 4 away since I have 26 followers, but it's a round number.)

Jamar, you were about 2 days too early and Miz Milah, you were a day too late!

Watch-out-there-now

Well a few days ago, NY Suitor reminded me that "this was a daily blog" and that I was slacking. I know he was joking and I don't take it personal, so no I'm not complaining or pitching a fit. NY Suitor knew that last week was rather hectic for me.

I don't think I've mentioned this on here before, so I guess this is a good time to do so.
I am in the process of changing careers. It's hard trying to carry the both of them at the moment, but I'll survive. The career I'm transitioning into is in the field of financial service...more specificly strategizing with families to help them achieve their dreams and goals financially. The connection between my career move and my lack of blog entries for this past week, is that last week was the company annual convention. Luckily it was here in Los Angeles and we had company members from all over the country, as well as Canada, China, and the Philipines. The convention required some rather long hours over those several days, but the trade off was some valuable workshops and training sessions.

Well during the company convention, I was given the trophy pictured above. It may not be clear, but it's a "Sleeping Giant Award." This award is given because the company acknowledges that I'm learning and growing in the company and that they recognize that when I get hit full speed that I will be extremely successfull. (AND no they don't just give it to everybody as a "thanks for playing" token. LOL!)

Well I just wanted to share, I'm happy and proud of my achievement and I know it signifies greater things to come!
