Self,
On this day I present;
Carol of the Bells
Sorry, this note has three clips that I couldn't decide between and ended up using them all.
This first clip is an old claymation skit. And I remember it...I'm old I know. On top of that, I want to say it was the first time that I heard the song. This skit is here for that nostalgic notion.
It was years later that I knew that there were lyrics to "Carol of the Bells." This clip of this young lady singing this song while having created her own 4-part harmony. And you can see from the video that she doesn't have a major recording system like Beyonce, Janet, or Mary Blige to do their own background vocals. SO I had to give this girl props.
This last clip is from a production called Celtic Woman. I have no idea when or where it was done. But I appreciate the grand scale that they are doing the song and I love the incorporating the Gaelic/Irish/Scottish tones and rythmn on the violin solo.
What I think I love most about this is that I apprciate it on a purely music platform. The richness in tone, melody, rythmn, cadence, pitch, harmony, complexity and adaptability.
Don't get me wrong, the lyrics are important too. For me they do exactly what they say they are doing - anouncing that Christmas is here.
Sincerely,
Pharaoh.

This is my most favorite Christmas song of all time followed by "This Christmas".
My favorite version of this song is done by Destiny's Child.
A-Soul,
I do also like Destiny Child's version too.
