Trying something new

Self,

I won't go so far as to say that I am an artist...and even to claim that I have artistic tendencies may be a stretch but whatever you may want to label it...it's a part of me.

This is a picture of an original painting (acrylic on canvas) by Pharaoh. It doesn't really have a name but I think just calling it "Lines and colors" would be fitting.

This was an experiment. I actually painted this back in September of 2008 on Labor day weekend. I say it was an experiment because I didn't have a set "vision" or image in my mind when I started. What I did have was a few things I were curious about and then I let the canvas take its own appearance.

When I finished this project I told myself that I wanted to complete one canvas every three months. Well the last quarter of 2008 got passed me without a canvas, partially due mostly to my traveling. The other part of the problem was lack of......inspiration.

Here it is mid-February which means the first quarter of 2009 is about half over and I'm short a canvas. Fortunately, this time I have a concept that I want to work on (which prompted this post.) I think I can finish in just a couple weeks (lol particularly since I'm in the satelite facility at my job pratically by myself so I may sneak and work on it at work.) However I do have until the end of March to finish to safely keep myself on track to my goal of one a quarter.

Set-up started Monday February 16th. I think a large chunk of the work will be done later today.

Wish me luck!

Sincerely,
Pharaoh

Sean,
You are welcome to make me an offer. In the meantime I feel I need to improve some and have more than just 1 painting.
