It's Election day. Today's outcome will determine the direction of the nation and subsequently the world.
As confident as I am that Obama will win, there's so much anticipation and excitement in the air regarding his pending victory. As with any candidate, there's concern as to rather he will keep the campaign promises he has already made, how will he handle any unforeseen events once he is sworn in to office and how all that will effect our individual lives.
Yet, no matter the outcome today, this is history in the making. As historic as it is that Obama is the first African-american Presidential Nominee, I don't think that's the most important factor. The brilliance of his campaign is the phrase above, "YES WE CAN." I believe that it has inspired a lot of people to feel that they matter. Both in this election and in general. I don't think Republicans/conservatives understand what they are confronting here. I'd like to think that they won't be stupid enough to try any shenanigans like 2000 & 2004.
More importantly I believe, that if any misconduct does occur that the rightous will stand up and demad justice.
Sincerely,
Pharaoh
